Jena Mort
Hi my name is Jena and I live and was raised in Idaho my whole life. I have five wonderful boys ranging in ages from 24 to 9 married to a wonderful husband and like living the simple life. I am the coc cook for one of our local hospitals. I enjoy just taking life as it comes and enjoying my time with family and friends. I decided to return to school after 23+ years off and have finished my associates degree and I am now half way done with my bachelors. I look forwards to working with all of you and to all of our continued success.
Bethany Goodman
I'm Bethany, a 23 year old recently relocated to the great state of Oregon. I'm working full time, and am only 9 months away from my BA in English.
When it comes to English and Literature, I love Chaucer, Medieval Literature, Spenser, Wyatt, and then all types of modern literature (Anne Rice is a personal favorite). I'm working my way through the Song of Ice and Fire series now. Other than that I play a lot of video games, drink way too much coffee, sleep too little, work a lot of hours, and enjoy spending time with my husband and our two adorable cats.
Alesia Austin
My name is Alesia Austin and I am 50 years old. I have lived in Richmond, California for 23 years. I’ve been married for 18 years to my husband Daniel. I have two children, Aralyn an 18 year old junior in college, and Cameron 16 years old and in 11thgrade. I have an 8 year old dog (Bischon/Poodle mix) named Harry. I also have a new baby in the house, a cat. His name is Jasper and he’s a year old now. Oh yeah….I’m also proud to say I’ve been a registered nurse for six years!
In what little spare time I have I like to read, exercise, watch True Blood, American Idol, and Survivor. My goal is to obtain my BSN through the University of Phoenix and allow myself more opportunities and growth potential and to set an example for my children. I have a thirst for knowledge at this time in my life and I don’t plan on stopping until I fulfill my educational goal.
Will Slovick
Hi. My name is William Slovick, but I go by Will. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. I am married and have four children, ages 11 to 17. Our eldest has finished her junior year in high school and plans to go to Academy of Art University in San Francisco after she graduates (she may take general education classes at the local community college first). My youngest has just finished elementary school. He has been having challenges with Dyslexia and Attention Deficit Disorder. My two middle children are twin boys, both of which have autism and are in the Special Education program in our district.
I am currently employed at a copy + print shop, where I have worked in various capacities for 13 years. I do some Graphic Design, Information Technology Support, and limited Network Administration. However, my main focus right now is what I call e-Commerce Implementation (I don't have an official title) for my company’s website. I generally work anywhere from 50-65 hours per week, depending on projects and IT needs.
Because of the down economy and layoffs at work, I made the decision to return to school to obtain my Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology – Web Development. I already have an Associate of Arts degree in Accounting from the local community college, so I was able to transfer in most of my General Education credits. This class will be my 22nd of 22 classes at University of Phoenix (yep, my last class). However, after looking at the syllabus for this class and my work project schedule, October is going to be quite the challenge. In many ways, I think this class is going to be harder for me than most of my technology-based classes
